Job Description:

The ICC Authorizations Supervisor manages the onshore assigned staff and/or interacts with the global authorization unit to ensure the efficient, smooth, and effective day-to-day operations of the ICC authorization department activities. Enforces established policies and procedures. The Supervisor ensures the timely and accurate actions required on patient prior authorizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee staff of ICC authorizations
  • Facilitate individual and team development; Mentor and counsel assigned personnel and meet with employees to discuss productivity results and quality of work product; Understand policy and administer corrective actions and/or a Performance Improvement Plans (PIP), when needed.
  • Develop proficiency of assigned resources by providing individual and team training
  • Address and resolve account issues when escalated by authorization reps or referred by other departments
  • Respond to day-to-day changes in priorities, workloads and assignments and take action to ensure timely authorization procurement and address clinic account related escalations

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of insurance prior authorizations experience
  • 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge in ICC specialty preferred
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
