Job Description:
The Lead Software Engineer is expected to take on complex problems and solve them from start to end. The position is responsible for understanding product requirements, identifying gaps and innovating process to fill gaps.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes coding practices, standards, and oversees governance they are being followed
- Establishes technical debt remediation and avoidance roadmaps
- Mentors and guides Software Engineers at all levels
- Vets new and emerging technologies for incorporation into the standard reference architecture
- Stays abreast of industry-leading software engineering practices
- Advocates coding practices that not only perform well, but can easily be adapted and maintained by others
- Ratifies engineering designs that solve complex or large-scale problems
- Serves as a technical expert on multiple complex applications / products / technologies
Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience in software engineering
- BS degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Mastery skill with engineering tools (IDEs, social, diagraming, compilation, build, testing)
- Mastery in high-level languages, scripting languages, and query languages
- Knowledge of ETL/Data Warehousing concepts
- Excellent written/verbal skills
- Mastery skill with contemporary engineering process (e.g. agile, scrum, Kanban)
