Job Description:

The Senior Medical Writer is responsible for working with clients, expert consultants, and other key stakeholders to develop strategic scientific content. Medical writing drives the creation of high-quality content and strategic insights that contribute to the overall success of the Life Science Services business. The senior medical writer also serves as a subject matter expert for both internal team and external client to provide deep knowledge regarding disease states and treatment landscape.


  • Serve as the content lead for client projects to develop physician surveys, discussion guides, slide decks, executive summaries, and other documents to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products
  • Develop deep understanding of disease states and current medical and/or regulatory issues related to various products
  • Contribute to therapeutic expertise during deliverable execution phase for assigned client projects
  • Provide strategic insights and clinically relevant perspective to clients
  • Serve as an internal disease-area scientific and research expert to support cross-functional strategies and other scientific communication deliverables
  • Proactively seek learning opportunities to promote professional growth while meeting business needs
  • Establish strong relationships with key opinion leaders to drive productive collaborations
  • Travel to live meetings to provide on-site content support including slide reviews and insights capture
  • Participate in discussions regarding the creation of departmental SOPs addressing processes and procedures necessary to achieve organizational objectives
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by management


  • Advanced degree in biological sciences or related field (PhD degree preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience as a medical writer
  • Oncology experience in a medical communication company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with project managers, other writers, editors, physicians, and clients
  • Ability to communicate medical/technical information to the targeted audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
  • Flexible, with positive attitude, strong ability to multi-task, prioritize projects effectively and communicate at all levels within the company and with clients
  • Expert experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Willing to travel including on weekends up to 20% of time
