Job Description:
The DevOps Delivery Lead is responsible for driving successful outcomes of all DevOps-related projects and operational work. They should be very familiar with DevOps best practices, following agile development practices, ensuring that Jira tickets and stories have adequate detail and requirements, facilitating meetings, communicating the status of projects, and managing ticket queues, all while focusing on resource management and allocation. Lead would be acting as a two-way conduit between stakeholders and DevOps team while balancing the team’s workload between operational support and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Jira tickets and stories, ensure they are adequately detailed with requirements, and organize and distribute work to DevOps team resources based on skillsets and available capacity
- Ensure that Jira, Confluence, and Aha are properly linked and kept up to date.
- Work across business and functional teams to understand macro level business priorities and blockers to properly set expectations with stakeholders and prioritize DevOps work appropriately.
- Ensure that project and operational work is properly scoped and communicated timelines are agreed upon, adhered to, and met.
- Act as an escalation point for stakeholders requesting DevOps status updates on open items. Track and communicate blockers or risks to leadership and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Analyze and track DevOps team resources, throughput, and performance and suggest ways to improve team delivery.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in a Delivery Lead role.
- 4-year degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience with Agile methodology.
- 3+ years experience with DevOps best practices.
- Mastery in written/verbal skills along with task, project, and program management.
- Strong understanding of contemporary engineering processes (e.g. agile, scrum, Kanban).
- Strong conceptual understanding of DevOps CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Testing, Cloud Orchestration, and Management.
- Mastery of JIRA, and Confluence is required; experience in Aha! or another road-mapping tool is a plus.
