Job Description:

Acts as a liaison between Product Management and Engineering in the accurate capture and macro design of software requirements; drives non-functional requirements and macro design in the areas of performance, scalability, resiliency, security, and re-use.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with engineers, stakeholders, and senior management to select from a range of appropriate design solutions to ensure the compatibility of system components
  • Leads the architectural efforts of medium projects (e.g., products and IT services), develops roadmap to incorporate industry best practices, formulates and presents solutions, and gains support/approval from stakeholders and senior management
  • Develops proposals related to integrating multiple architecture domains (i.e., process, application, data, infrastructure)
  • Conducts complete diagnostics of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture
  • Participates in the analysis of systems and processes from end to end
  • Conducts an enterprise architectural review for projects as appropriate, advises on associated risk identification and proposes risk mitigation strategies
  • Evaluates and makes tactical and strategic recommendations regarding the system architecture
  • Mentors and encourages junior architects and/or engineers to adopt best practices

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in software engineering and/or software architecture
  • 4‐year degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate (general features) skill with Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate (specifications, technical) Written/Verbal skills
  • Expertise in SQL and RDBMS
  • Academic understanding of Product Management (markets, voice of customer, pricing)
  • Intermediate (visualization & drill-down) skill with Performance Profiling tools
  • Intermediate negotiation skills between Product Management and Engineering audiences
  • Intermediate public speaking skills (presentations / audio / visual / in-person)
  • Intermediate business acumen interacting with departmental leadership
  • Up to 5% travel
