Job Description:

The Business Analyst position assists all levels of the organization, providing keen insight into business analytics, financial and operational performance through data mining in a proactive manner.  This position is responsible for analyzing key business data and operational metrics to all aspects of the RCM organization, with a concerted focus on presenting opportunities to gain operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Review data, reports and statistical information, analyze trends and render adjustments to team priorities and operations to increase effectiveness
  • Analyze key performance indicators and business performance metrics to all levels of management and operational leadership
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats to serve internal and external business needs
  • Leverage knowledge of database design and structure to engage leadership in presenting new opportunities for increased utilization of database and programming tools to reduce manual effort, improve reports
  • Prepare data visualization tools and analysis reports for multiple audiences, including team review meetings, client presentations, executive management and non-technical audiences
  • Provide continuous improvement of data collection, analytical processes and procedures while maintaining a high degree of data integrity
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
  • Supports continuous quality improvement utilizing SQL report development and data visualization to communicate progress effectively to senior leadership

Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of business analyst/technology experienced required. Healthcare and/or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Health Information Management, Management Information/Business Systems, or Business Analytics/Informatics; MBA preferred, but not required
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of multiple modeling techniques
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fluid and rapidly changing healthcare environment
  • Possess ability to work independently and take initiative, not requiring significant direction
  • Intermediate experience using and developing visual analytics dashboards and reporting tools
  • Experience with modern relational databases for ad hoc analyses
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with data manipulation tools
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of analytical programming languages and data visualization tools, including MS Access, SQL, and Tableau
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Excel/PivotTables, and other business intelligence/reporting applications or visual analyticsFamiliarity with developing SSIS packages and SSRS reports using Microsoft BI tools and SQL Server
