Job Description:

The Associate Billing Administrator provides oversight, support and maintenance for the Patient Business Services (PBS) Accounts Receivable Billing System. This position is responsible for creating, sending and troubleshooting all electronic claim submission files to payors for timely payment. Associate Billing Administrators configure system options to ensure that maximum efficiencies, automation and business logic are gained through utilizing the latest system features.


  • Ensure that all file maintenance tables are properly set up to ensure smooth billing processes, (e.g., charge/fee schedules, collection plans, contracts, divisions, insurances, lines of business and other business rules)
  • Maintain and support all revenue system-related tools, (e.g. clearinghouse software, eligibility databases and internally-developed software), as well as various database and analysis tools, (e.g., Access, Monarch, Excel)
  • Troubleshoot end user issues relating to Accounts Receivable Billing System; Create and modify, as required, system-generated reports
  • Perform daily Electronic Claim Transfer (ECT) transmissions
  • Analyze, diagnose and resolve billing related issues


  • Associates Degree from a technical program in a computer related field preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in medical billing strongly preferred
  • 1 year experience in a computer related field preferred; Experience with MS Access database creation and remote data sources a plus
  • Some work on weekends, though rarely required
